    Jcc,

Really? We?re born with the belief in non-belief and no faith in anything?

    Kookoo, kookoo, kookoo.

A “belief in non-belief”? Are you kidding?

  2. DVanWechel says:

In India the babies are all born Xian and forced to convert to Hinduism.

Duh, of course they are. Just like in Pakistan where all children are born Christian and converted to Islam ? DAMN TERRORISTS!!!!!!

  3. tarma says:

    “belief in non-belief”

Another reason I’m here: for the belly laughs.

  4. mechman96 says:

    jcc,

“Really? We?re born with the belief in non-belief and no faith in anything?”

I think what the other member may be implying is that when we are born, we have yet to be threatened, coerced and bullied into believing in a god. We are still pure in our thinking.

  5. rdmiller3 says:

You know that saying, “There’s no such thing as a stupid question?”??

Well, That’s a bunch of rot. There are stupid questions and that is one of them.

The “ultimate questions” are nonsense, all based on presuppositions.

  6. atomictesting says:

We’re all born scientists. An infant cries and is fed, changed, given attention, and taken care of. The infant quickly hypothesizes that crying will result in the appearence of adults to take care of its needs. It tests this hypothesis every chance it gets. It observes the results and uses them to its advantage.

Great blog, I read it every day. Im from Scandinavia and Im amazed how religous are people in the United States. This blog makes me feel like I belong somewhere when in my home country there was no need for it. Religious nonsense is simply just not an issue anywhere I’ve been before. My fiance is from TX. Imagine the conversations.. he is an atheist now ;)

  8. mechman96 says:

    Atomictesting,
Hilarious! True in an obscure way, but hilarious none the less.

  9. imforgvn says:

    Where are we?

  10. KatK says:

So, I came to read the rest of the thread, and instead got sidetracked for two hours on overheardinnewyork.com. Great site! :)

ahh… the belief in nonbelief… what perfect sense xians make.

  11. Jatheist says:

Why am I here? I get a kick out watching other people argue against wacky christians for a change.

To be honest, my favorites are the drive-by’s. I laugh for hours on end.

Also, has anyone else gotten the impression that jcc and phreedm are the same poster?

  12. what says:

    JCC

to answer your questions about my faith.

    But nobody asked?

  13. what says:

    JCC

    belief in non-belief

I wish I could say that was one of the dumbest things you have ever written on this blog where you come to answer questions that nobody asked of you.

  14. reluctantatheist says:

A baby’s brain is free of creases, which represents the gradual increase of knowledge over the years.
I don’t agree w/What usually, but this time? Oh wow, talk about a self-evident statement.

where you come to answer questions that nobody asked of you.

    Succinct, sweet, & LMAO!

  15. what says:

    KA

    I don’t agree w/What usually

I would like you to know that always enjoy reading your posts.

Exactly! What is it about the human brain that suckers us into asking these ill-posed questions? Dave, another thread idea?

  17. Jaydave says:

I am not even sure I know where I am !!!! lol

  18. jcc says:

    What & Krystalline Apostate:

where you come to answer questions that nobody asked of you.

Really? Over on the ?Missionaries Massacred? thread:

    http://www.atheists.org/nogodblog/index.php/2007/12/09/
    title_21#comments

I found these posts that contained questions directed specifically to me. I believe there?s even one in there from you, What :-)
    12/09/07 @ 17:38
    12/09/07 @ 18:23
    12/09/07 @ 23:13
    12/10/07 @ 10:32
    12/10/07 @ 11:21
    12/10/07 @ 12:19
    12/10/07 @ 23:42
    12/11/07 @ 00:01
    12/11/07 @ 04:24
    12/12/07 @ 01:32

And I’m quite certain that if I were so inclined, I could search all the treads here and find multiple questions to me from a certain Krystalline Apostate (who was, at one time, known as ?reluctantatheist?)

    :-)

  19. 666 says:

No one ever had the desire to ask any xtians about their faith on this blog in the first place.

If you (plural) didn’t walk in and take a shit on the floor, no one would be asking you anything!

If I (and I’m betting many others here) want to know about your delusions, I’d go visit a xtian site!

    Suck it jeesus!

  20. Rusty Shackleford says:

I don’t think questions along the lines of “are you fucking kidding me?” are what KA and What meant.

  21. karen says:

Actually, I have many times genuinely and not so genuinely asked jcc about his faith here on this blog. I know most of you count him as a troll, but I consider him a friend. Go figure.

  22. 666 says:

    karen,
would you have asked anything of jcc etc. had he not come here in the first place?

The point is that he/she/it decided to come here to prosetlyze under the guise that we wanted to know more about xtian faith. So why did I not hear anyone here asking anything in regards to xtian faith before their arrival?

If anyone wants that kind of information, why would they be seeking it on an ATHEIST blog?

    Bullshit!

  23. jcc says:

    karen:

I consider him a friend. Go figure.

Thank you so much! And I have come to count you as a true friend as well?one whom I?ve learned a great deal from, and truly care about.

  24. what says:

JCC must have been directed by the gawds to come here and answer the questions about his “faith”. Is JCC really so dense as to not realize that we already no about his “faith”? Most of us were either raised in xian families or in the US. You would have to be a home-schooled atheist living in a cave not to know everything about his “faith”.

    JCC

So you see there is no reason left for you to be here.

  25. karen says:

    jcc
    You’re welcome.

    What
Even though I was raised in religion and have read the Bible and am not a home-schooled atheist living in a cave, I try to ask jcc questions about his personal faith, not necessarily the general faith system to which he subscribes. Although at times it becomes very personal and I get ugly with him. That’s usually when I’m venting about my past issues and quite frankly attacking the religion I resent having had thrust upon me and I’m using him for a scapegoat. It’s vaguely therapeutic, but not something I really mean to do. I just don’t always keep a tight lid on my bouts of dissociativity.

  26. karen says:

    What
In other words, I’m nuts. ;)

  27. 666 says:

    Seriously, Anyone:

If someone wants to know about religious faith, Why would they come to an ATHEIST BLOG???

  28. Carry On says:

I have one possible answer to why xtians might come here to post. I can’t speculate about any individual xtian poster here, but I have noticed a fair amount of insecurity within the xtain community. While it appears they are proselytizing, they may be trying to shore up their own religious certainty by attacking your rational thinking. Keep in mind how hard it is to have an illogical belief system. Many of us are still recovering.

When atheists make valid intelligent points, the truth hurts. Xtains have a long held, vested interest in keeping their wishful thinking intact. Anything else means they have been wrong. And they have been.

  29. what says:

    Carry On

Good post. Maintaining a lie is expensive. The JCCs and Phreekies of this world work 24/7 to maintain theirs.

  30. Zac Hunter says:

    Why Am I Here?

    The Existential Answer:
Because I choose to be where I am. I am navigating my initial thrown-ness into the world, and reining in my future possibilities such that, to the best of my ability, I am able to lead an authentic and rewarding life.

Why am I on the No God Blog?
    The Atheist Answer:
I like critical thought and argumentation. I believe a constructive engagement with world views, with the views of others and with naturalistic ideas is positive and healthy. I like to lend a hand in others arguments (on both sides) to clear up logical errors so that we all may profit from the discussion. I am also here because you people are just plain interesting. Because I am an atheist. Because I might learn something.

  31. Zac Hunter says:

    Hey Phreedm…

Where do you get off coming into this post with “Atheist PR disaster” and chiding other posters with 9-11 stuff? You make 3 posts, none of which are remotely related to the topic. Admit it. You only did that to start a row. Its pretty base. I used to give you the benefit of the doubt, but seeing that has not only negatively affected my experience of this blog, and has moved me against your presence here. I don’t know if you any longer maintain the right to post here as I believe you are edging on violation of NGB rules.

Couldn’t you AT LEAST post relevant info (like a topical response) instead of doing what you ALWAYS do; posting a topically irrelevant link to some story you know will cause a row.

What are you contributing? Ask yourself, as the blog just did: Why are you here? I bet Jesus would not approve.

  32. Teapot Eclipse says:

Woah. You can tell I’m here?
