Sorry for off topic here but I think this is a good idea....does anyone else?

Margaret Downey, president of the Freethought Society is putting up the Tree of Knowledge in a public square next to other Club Displays like a Christmas Tree...

http://www.dailylocal.com/WebApp/appmanager/JRC/Daily?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pg_article&r21.pgpath=%2FDLN%2FNews%2FLocal+News&r21.content=%2FDLN%2FNews%2FLocal+News%2FHeadlineList_Story_1172335

There was a spot on Fox Noise Sunday Morning with Margaret Downey exchanging dialogue with a Priest....I thought she presented her idea eloquently....I dont have to tell you what I thought of the Priest and the rest of Blonds and Fiends Cast I mean Fox and Friends Cast....

I saw the Golden Compass last night. It was good. Not great, but good. Certainly worth seeing.

I couldn't help but find irony in the overall message of the movie; that religion is there to tell people what to do and maintain control over them. And ironically, just to prove them right, churches across the country are attempting to stop their congregations from seeing the movie ? telling them what to do and trying to maintain control over them.

Good stuff.

Margaret Downey, president of the Freethought Society is putting up the Tree of Knowledge in a public square
I'm disappointed that they didn't call it the "tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil".

That might have raised a few eyebrows.

"[...]even though it is clear that the producers are watering down the most despicable elements -- so as to make money and not anger Christians[...]"
-- William Donohue, president of Catholic League

When Narnia has been released, nothing has been made to water down the christian elements in order not to anger the atheists. Double standard ?
Charlie wrote,

Yeah, I like it. The religious book cover ornaments are ok too, because real live people should also have knowledge of the fairytale books. Also of note; the less then knowledgeable people have been allowed to have a christian tree and a sheep pen, which means that additional reality displays should be included too.

Possibly helpful side note:
I've at times been frustrated with the long URLs that run off the edge of my browser's display area, which in some cases effectively stopped me from looking at the links. As I was wondering how to complete Charlie's link I thought of a solution. Charlie had given enough information for me to pick out some keywords (in this case "tree of knowledge") that I was able to feed into my favorite search engine at scroogle.org like this:
tree of knowledge site:dailylocal.com
(all on one line)

In this case the search returned one hit which was the article that Charlie pointed to. Please note: I'm not trying to get anyone to change their style of showing URL references, but only wanting to help anyone that might have a similar situation.
