Those who know me know that Turkey-Football day is one of my favorite holidays. Theists give thanks to an invisible man in the sky. Atheists give thanks to humans.So thanks to our vets, to those who came out of the Atheist closet, this year, and of course to the readers of this blog. You’re awesome!

For us that live in and around Detroit, we get to celebrate that yearly tradition, the Lions losing on turkey day. At least they kept it close this time…
No turkey here, I’m going to go find a Chinese restaurant that’s open and get some General Tso’s and an egg roll.

We’re going through the process of learning how to balance the meals between divorcing parents. After I had planned turkey day for the kids, my soon-to-be-ex decided he would go ahead and have them over as well. His meal went first, with mine 4 hours later. Way too much food and not much appetite when they got to me. I told them we’d start a new tradition and do spaghetti next year. They seemed relieved.
English Muffin pizzas here. I’m thankful for nitrite soaked Hormel Turkey Pepperoni that goes so nicely on top.
And of course, cranberry sauce.
I once said I was thankful for something (can’t remember what) and a religious friend who knows I am an atheist told me one needed to believe in the magic man in order to be thankful. Christians, geez! I rolled my eyes and asked if I could be ‘appreciative’ then. Just so you know, that’s okay, no magic man required.
It’s so wonderful to be at my father’s house for Turkey Football day. He’s says there will be no Xtian praying Bull S#$@ at our dinner table much to the dismay of some of his Xtian guests. It’s hilarious. He will say this in public too. These f*&^ing religious f*#%$ers. The joys of being an old coot. Same for the solstice. Anyway, I make it a point to Thank the women for Giving me the grub.
