There's a slight chance of rain Thursday, which will make them start swaying back and forth, entranced and shouting praises of glory, if even only a few drops fall. Unfortunately, we need slightly more than a few drops, but they'll just choose to ignore that little fact.

With god being omniscient and all, certainly he already knows they need rain in the Atlanta area. Being omnipotent, maybe it is HE that CHOOSES not to send rain. Perhaps the people of that region should be asking themselves what they did wrong to make gawd hate them so.

http://video.msn.com/video.aspx?mkt=en-US&brand=msnbc&vid=60abc9bd-69ce-4eea-8933-89df1ea78f3c

God is an arsonist! Listen as a reporter repeatedly fishes for a supernatural claim from a man that survived three days in a wrecked car.

At the end they fish for a religious claim that God started the fire so that the man would be discovered and saved. The reporter, of course, uses the term miracle (though the interviewee did not).

"pray for rain" vigil organized by Georgia Gov. Sonny Purdue held on the steps of the state capitol building.

What is it about the deep South? Does the heat make people stupid or what?

I saw a note in the local paper about this vigil. It quipped at the end that the vigil was to be held outside, weather permitting.

And you thought southerners didn't have a sense of humor.
