Hey Dave, there is a site called 10questions.com and they are allowing people to upload video questions from youtube to be asked to our next President! Our video is asking “Is America Unofficially a Theocracy?” If you want to watch it and vote for it, go to www.10questions.com and type in “lunch4lyfe” in the search box to find my video, “Is America Unoffically a Theocracy”. Votes are appreciated! We have till November 14th to get this video in the Top Ten and keep it there, for EVERY presidential candidate to answer our question!! We used to be in 7th place, but thanks to a church group trying to vote down the video, (an email confirmed this) we have been stuck in 13th place for quite some time. Please, take this opportunity to express your concern for the lack of a seperation of church and state to our next President, the most powerful person on the planet.
I’m all for thinking about politics, but I must admit that I was not particularly impressed with those videos. The one on the right was too dark, and the one on the left didn’t impress me as a serious question that will reveal what a politician really thinks. Not a bad idea though if the execution could be improved.
I always wanted to know how religious people are racist since there is nothing against other races in the religions .
I think the question on the left was quite valid, and I voted it up (along with the other question, though the one on the left is better).
I wouldn’t worry about the quality of the videos, I hope the candidates wouldn’t care about it.
It may be too late to make a new video, the total number of votes are tallied, and older videos will naturally have a better shot.
I remember an older contest like this that asked a question about Atheism, but it was only directed toward one candidate (Edwards, I think) and he didn’t answer with much detail.
I would love to see what the candidates have to say about that video.
I would also love to see Dennis Kucinich soundly destroy all opposition (preferably action movie style).
tortillas,
It seems to be natural to be afraid of that which is different. Unfortunately, skin tone is easily recognizable as being “different” and therefore worthy of fear.
Also, remember that The Bible often treats entire nations or cities of people as if they each have very common traits. Sodom and Gomorrah, anyone?
So we couple our possibly natural fears with a mythology that teaches people to judge others by grouping them and you’ve got a recipe for racism.
That isn’t to say that Atheists are somehow immune to this. There’s more than one way to teach people to group others.
I voted!
While we’re on the subject of politics, this was an interesting questionaire:

Interesting that a church group is trying to vote down the video.
I could understand voting down videos because they are not well stated or not important to you as a voter, but an organized attempt to vote down a video really shows that these people have something to hide. Gee guys, why don’t you want to talk about it?
Most likely, they are just reacting to perceived criticism which triggers their martyrdom complex. Besides atheists are evil, everyone knows that, and it is always necessary to oppose evil no matter where you find it.
On the other hand for the conspiracy enthusiasts here, it’s because they don’t want to be found out until they have got the theocracy in place and it is too late to stop them.
It’s kind of neat how this blog is being paid by Google to put ads for xtian websites on here.
They pay us and we get a laugh. Sort of a win – win for us and a lose – lose for them.

I believe it’s what’s called “Writing on the Wall”…if I can use a biblical expression…lol
Obviously the private sector wasn’t bringing in enough income for AA. So now they rely on th $2-4.00 a day from Google to help fund their propaganda…
This video clip is nothing more then “another” hate Bush video…
If one wants to see what a “theocray” really is, they should study countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia…
If atheists are REALLY fearful of a theacracy then I wonder why there isn’t a strong condemnation from AA or their troops over the Dems use of religion and campaigning from the churches pulpits…actually I don’t…as I’ve said for years…AA is nothing more then another wing of the DNC…and their silence on this issue proves my point…
I suspect that atheists are less aligned with a particular political party than are the religious fundamentalists. I would really like to see the results of phreedm’s answers to the presidential candidate position questionaire referenced by 666; but I supose I could probably just reverse the order of my results to know his/hers? since I suspect we are polar opposites in our worldviews as well as our religiosity.
DNC = Don’t Nixon Clinton, right?
AA is another wing of the DNC. In fact, they have covert operatives all over the country. With the jews and the blacks getting together in their secret underground bunkers their gonna get all those red blooded christians and destroy christmas forever. Hahaha.
I agree with mdetrano. Providing users with the ability to vote a question down makes no logical sense in s Democratic context.
It only allows a group of people to vote down the discussion of a subject they don’t want to hear discussed.
Voting is over.
The question about America being an unofficial Theocracy came in 2nd place. Woot. And lunch4lyfes other religious question came in 3rd. I wonder if they’re just going to combine the two videos into one since they ask roughly the same question.
It’s also funny that the Theocracy question had more down votes than any other question in the top 10, yet still placed 2nd.
The next highest number of “down-votes” was the Medical Marijuana question which came in 4th place. I’d also like to see the answers to that question.
