Sucking up to fundie morons is necessary for a Republican to win the nomination. The Democrats don't have that problem. The Democrats still have to pretend they believe in the invisible man, because of the simple fact that American voters are bloody stupid, but to win the nomination they don't have to deny proven scientific facts that conflict with the beliefs of the fundie idiots. For example Hillary Clinton, who is getting my vote, said the following recently:

?I am grateful that I have the ability to look at dinosaur bones and draw my own conclusions,? she added, saying, too, that antibiotic-resistant bacteria is evidence that ?evolution is going on as we speak.?

Hillary, who I bet gives a shit about man-made gods, still has to pretend she believes it, but at least, as a Democrat, she doesn't have to be anti-science. She doesn't need the votes of the brainless fundies.

the republicans don't *need* the fundies either--what choice do they really have, anyway? they're certainly not going to vote democrat, and they know they couldn't run their own third-party candidate and win.

in any case, i'd put giuliani in the "foe" category, if only because he thinks pandering to xian conservatives is necessary to maintain the GOP coalition.

on another note, "school choice" does not necessarily mean money for private schools (though it often does) and it is not necessarily illegal, either--there are a variety of models out there, and making inaccurate generalizations doesn't further the debate.

Hillary will whore herself to any group to get their votes. She refuses to support gay marriage. I deserve better than her and the bitch won't be getting my vote.
