This is hardly a surprise. If the church did not stifle sex and honesty so strongly, this would not even be an issue. If an atheist has sex, there is no scandal, we know we want and will have sex.
The sin, excuse the word, is dishonesty. If they were not FORCED to lie, to begin with, there would be no scandal. I want to make it clear that I do believe sex with children is criminal, and would not support an atheist that behaved that way any more than I would support a christian. But sex between consenting adults, no matter what the sex, or sexes involved is hardly criminal. It is human. The denial of this fact, in words and deeds, is what makes this a scandal.

I have often wondered how someone who supposedly believes in god and hell can possibly bring themselves to abuse children. I have come to the conclusion, Like Dave did, That these people can’t possibly believe the stuff they demand everyone else believes and more often than not only go in to the church because of the trust and access to children it provides them.
It seems if religion isn’t mutilating children’s genitals they are using them for sexual gratification. Either way, It should be a criminal offence to expose children to religion and the imbeciles that preach its lies.
His hidden camera defence is so typical of these people. It’s as if he thinks the only thing he is guilty of is being caught.
Oh, they might believe alright. They also believe that their deity will forgive them for their crimes on Earth. Don’t forget that part – it’s probably the biggest attraction to xianity. Act as you want and confess you sins and all will be forgiven.

Maybe there are so many postings in here on xianity becasue xians are the majority religious group in the USA. Muslims are less than 1% and jews are less than 2.5% so of course most postings will be about xians and the threat they pose to civil liberties.
As far as bigotry goes I make no secret of the fact that I am very bigoted towards xianity. I try not to be bigoted against individual xians but it is sometimes a very difficult thing to do.
