RCC: Predator Priests and Enabler Bishops Kick Out Nuns To Pay Off Lawsuits

Here is an interesting piece from Susan Jacoby in the Washington Post about how the Los Angeles Archdiocese is paying its $660M lawsuit settlements by selling convents and kicking Nuns out into the street. So my question is simple, where the hell is Bill Donahue now? Boy buggering Priests and their good friends, the Bishops who moved them to other areas when they were discovered so they could continue to bugger little boys cause over six and half hundred million in debts and the males make the women who had nothing to do with these lawsuits pay for it.Gee, I can’t wait to join that church. I am certain it must be a real uplifting experience full of love and joy.Peter Nuhn

I once saw an article in some hate-filled “traditional” catholic newsletter about a former cathedral that was rented out for Elton John’s wedding reception and how outraged the church is that renting out or selling their churches for “worldly pleasures” such as dance halls is pretty much the only way for them to make money. I just have to say that they did it to themselves. They allowed their greed and lust to let them do whatever they pleased and now it’s come back to bite them in the ass. Maybe they should be teaching about Karma instead of the sins of sodomy.

No, it’s more like a brown spot in your shorts.

    Heh.

Now as for the nuns, they should get together ad file a class-action suit against their bigamist husband, JC. Isn’t it the husband’s duty to provide a home for his submissive help-mate? And these women have been kicked out of theirs, to benefit the pedophilic padres. Time to stand up a be a man, JC. Find your wives nice new homes, and bring a little justice to the children abused by the men bandying about your name.

You have to understand the thinking of these morons. In their world view, the nuns will be provided food and shelter directly from god. The nuns will struggle, beg, and hope for an answer to get out of this mess. Most will find a way to survive, so from their point of view, god gave them homes. It does not make much sense, they will have to do all the work of survival and compromises, then say that some invisible critter did it for them.

Also from their point of view, women are there to make up for the weakness of men. They are meant to take the punishment because they bleed, and god planned it that way. Read some of the old testament rules about women who are having their monthly. It is spoken of as punishment bestowed upon women. I will never understand why there are female xtians. It is just as ridiculous as muslim females.

I would like to use this post about Jacoby’s article to rage about one of major reasons that I believe that ALL religions, religious believers, etc. are equally dangerous. Catholics are certainly not the only religious group who sexually abuse children, women and to a lesser extent adult men. For all of the attempts to cover the facts, sexual abuse (or abuse based on sexual power) is rampant among religious believers and especially among the clergy. All religions support the use of power by the few (mostly men, though not exclusively) to keep adherents faithful through sexual abuse and other violence, or they certainly cover for the abusers and silence the victims in the name of religion. Religionists love to argue that this is the work of individuals, not the church and certainly not the direct fault of their scriptures-messages of their god. Bull Shit! The fact that within all religions (with the possible exception of goddess worship–which has its own problems), women and children are pronounced to be property or second-class citizens, leads to the abuse of power, especially through sexual means. In fact the more religiously pious a religious community is, the more likely it is that sexual abuse will occur, that it will be covered for the sake of the abuser, and that the abused will be shamed into silence and made to believe that they are unforgiveable because they caused the abuse in some way. Why believe in a hell to come, when there are so many gods and gods’ messengers keeping their adherents in living hell on this Earth?

Only when all beings are treated as having inherent value and when reason guides our ethics and morals, rather than dangerous and delusional superstition, will this horror begin to end. I am not saying that individuals will not continue to act out violence toward each other, but without religions to hide behind and to prescribe these acts of violence, reason can rule for the weak, as well as the strong.
