I wouldn’t call that going great.
Sure they made some noise, but nothing will change, it’s Texas!
Maybe in 100 years.

Agreed…close up pics. Used often by those who wish to fool others into believing the event was larger then it was…
Wow…we had more then that at our free outdoor movie…
It’s the lack of participation at events like this that question the idea that there are 30 million non-believers in this nation…or that the atheist movement is tkaing over…simply propagting another myth…this was (another) dismal failure…
Hey…weren’t there about 4 more people at the protest against the AIG museum…?
I walked by a church on Sunday and there were hardly any people there…
Must not be many christians in America…
Sad…
Ive had more people at my house for beer and football on sunday then the local church must be that the service was a dismal failure !!! LOL
I thought that a wider angle shot of the crowd would show it to be larger. The fact is, it was EXTREMELY hot, and there is very little shade in that area, so most of our people bunched up under the trees there, for shade. That tended to conceal some of them for most of the photos. I would’ve said “Hey let’s not hide our numbers, please spread out a bit, so everyone can be seen,” but I knew the heat was the issue, and it was a hot issue!
The old joke used to be “Atheists held a picket today, at which all 12 Atheists in America attended.” Well that number has had to be upped a little bit many times in the last few decades. It still takes a lot of guts to go public with this perspective, and obviously it’s easy and safe to say you’re a Christian… Not so impressive.
We Atheists are coming of age in American society, and I’m glad it’s all being done through safe and peaceful means, with an inclusive and positive goal. Peace for all through VOLUNTARY secularism.

Zamecki, congratulations on the event. It’s not often that Atheists can rally and not be portrayed as demonic anti-religious hate-mongers. I think overall your protest was shown in a good light.
Again, congratulations. And thanks for all you do.

I laughed out loud at this one…what a poor attempt at trying to sound smart…
Phreedm misses the point… again…
Sad… but expected…
Hats off to Joe Zamecki. Excellent work Joe.

“Phreedm misses the point… again…”
That’s Phreeky’s goal in life – to miss every single point yet still manage to survive as the rest of our society takes up his and his kinds slack.
The article said there was roughly 100 people there. There was a picture of about 10 people. The close up picture was used to fool people into thinking the rally was larger than it really was.
I asked for it when I woke up this morning.

According to the organizer they were hiding in the trees. Either because it was to hot or because they were afraid to reveal their faith…
Either way, SOMEONE should have a pic with a few more people…
Anyone interested in Joes work should go to you tube and look at the “Christian nazi attacks Atheists” Parts #1 & #2. I laughed my head off of untill the assh*le started throwing rocks.
I did a head count and got 84 people but it wasn’t a perfect head count, just from where I stood and who I could see. No less than 84 would be accurately stated.

Looks like everything went OK at the “Dont stand for the pledge” at the nascar rally.
