As a Texas schoolteacher, I would love to join this event. Last week our students went back to school and the staff has been instructed to teach them the NEW state pledge which includes the words "under God". Thus, "under God" appears in the Pledge of Allegiance, the Texas pledge and we are forced into a "moment of silence". If my calculations are right...a "Supreme Deity" has been recognized three times in a space of less than seven minutes.
Also, the NEW Texas pledge seems a bit ambiguous as it is hard to discern whether "God" is "one and indivisble" or the state of Texas is "one and indivisible". What on earth does it mean? If you read the NEW Texas pledge and ponder it, you realize that it is nothing more than bewildering godspeak.
Also, a brave family (the Croft family) is challenging the Carrollton-Farmer's Branch School District because of the "moment of silence".

Some of us in Texas are fed up with this religious nonsense!!!!

Oh how I wish this Californian (me) could be there to join the Texas rally. Alas... I cannot.

Wishing the best of success for all those freethinkers and supporters of Separation of Religion and Government, I will be there in (ahem, *cough*) spirit.

Let the Freethought Roll!
