Phreedm makes Accurate Prediction!

Terrorist acts in Scotland and England…I’m sure we’ll get the “if only all religion were banned” comments…If only the masses were as intelligent like we are…if only the “stupid” masses didn’t believe in their God, all would be ok in the world…

Well, I’m not going that far, and I never do. It’s not the theists that’s the problem, its the strict followers of the violent religions (particularly Islam and Christianity) — those who honestly think their preacher is 100% right and will do whatever he says — they are the problem. Power corrupts.People can believe whatever they want, but yes, the world would be better off without certain sects of certain religions. I recently made a post about Scientology, and how Germany has banned it (and certain totally-straight-but-somewhat-letigious individuals). How do you relate the two? Do we as a world community have the right (duty?) to regulate dangerous religions and cults, or do we allow total religious freedom and deal with terrorists, fanatics, and scams? How do we decide what is dangerous, and how do we deal with the fact that these same fanatice view us as the dangerous ones?

    Man religion sucks….

It is now being reported that 2 of the folks involved in the foiled terrorist bombing plots in GB were doctors…Doctors that are supposed to save lives…but their stupid beliefs in a supreme being have infected their judgment….and phreedumbasshole…. Christians are no better….Pat Robertson’s condoning of foreign leader assassinations for 1 example….

May rational enlighten this planet that has been infested by silly superstitious backward thinking retards like phreedy….

While I’d never support a ban on religion (freedom of your thoughts is a civil right), I also don’t think religious calls for violence against anybody should be considered protected free speech. When a preacher incites violence, he becomes a criminal. When that violence escalates to major attacks, his church becomes a legitimate target…like any terrorist training ground.

Reports are that at least one of those docs was not religios at all.

When you invade another country for no good reason that tends to piss a lot of people off, religious or not.

Religion is organized crime. Use the RICO Act and investigate the hell out of these crime syndicates.

Unless I somehow missed it, I see that phreedumbshit didn’t respond to my post on his beloved bible.

No surprise there. You rarely find a gawd squader that knows his MF bible.

100,000 dead over 4 years = approx 70 per day.

Actually, when you put it that way, 100,000 does seem like a pretty plausible number.

    What…

can you post a link that says that….I did thought I read they were linked to al-Qaida therefore religious…

while I see many comments as blowing off steam, I think there have been some comments that I think need addressing. I think some of you are suggesting that all the world’s problems come down to religious people and belief in god. I think that’s too simplistic. History doesn’t even support it as atheist countries have had their own problems. A lot of good and bad comes from belief in god. Religion for one man may cause him to blow himself up and religion for another may cause him to sacrafice himself to save others. Do not be so quick to judge in black and white.

    spanders,
I think the real issue that people are ignoring is that religion in and of itself doesn’t cause people to do horrible things, but religion in the hands of madmen causes people to do horrible things. But then, anything in the hands of a madman is bad. I don’t see a belief in a higher being or a pretty afterlife as being dangerous or bad. If it makes you happy, go for it, just don’t push anyone else into believing it or hurt someone for not believing in it.

You are correct. Religion is a ready-made tool for manipulation of the masses. If not for this fact the nutjobs would mostly only be doing themsleves harm

Yes the brainaic didn’t respond to my “what then” question either. Chickenhawk chickensh*t.

It was only in one CNN story but one of docs brothers (siblings usually know better than parents) that the doc was not religious at all. Here it is:

it is high time for europe to crackdown on muslims.starting deporting muslims who don’t support secular society.it is sick the way some make execuses for muslims who break the law.

Hi guys, Its been a while since I have posted. What said it best,

Religion is a ready-made tool for manipulation of the masses

With this in mind I think that the content of religious expression needs to be monitored or at the very least scrutinized. Particularly manipulative or violent religions need to be weeded out and gotten rid of. I don’t mind if people need the comfort of an imaginary friend to get through the day. I’m just not going to think too highly of them thats all, but each to their own. I think the idea that we need to seriously proscribe to reason rather than Religion is one that has a lot of merit. In a nut shell the content of Religions need to be monitored. If they can’t “move with the times” and fit into todays society or teach backward and violent premises then I’m sorry they have to go.

Many posters have come here and made stupid and/or hateful posts. Phreedumb is just one of the frequent ones. Since I have not seen any truly thought-provoking posts from said poster, I LONG ago started skipping over all posts by Him as I do have better things to do with my time than read insensible/HATEFUL rants.
That said- I am sorry to see Him brought to the headlines as I thnk he is very negative. If you want to condone someone to put in the headlines- pick Spanders. He is respectful and offers cogent discussions.
(Pick cry4turtles, bernarda, heathenNZ or or ANYONE who is respectful/thoughtful.)
