    DeepDiver,
I’m not an educator, just a tutor on the side. I’m working on a degree right now (not in education though, I hate teaching). And I was only picking on you because, well come on, it’s hilarious that you make fun of me for grammar and then the very next sentence you have a few grammar mistakes yourself. Even you have to laugh at that. No hard feelings though. :)

    It’s also w-r-o-t-e.

I feel the need to invoke Lynne Truss:

    My duaghter gets straight A?s

Is the apostrophe correct as a singular possessive? Should it not be “As”. Just asking, ’cause I’m really not sure.

  4. TXatheist says:

Does anyone know if Ellen has shown up on youtube for this show yet?

  5. billh says:

    Evil:
If you are a tutor, you are an educator. You do not need a degree to be an educator. A degree means little to me. Damn, look at our King George, he has a degree. Need I say more?

  6. alexatheist says:

I have 2 Bengal cats (not tigers!) and love my two boys more than anything. Those who have moggies understand! I love dogs too though but just don’t have the space right now.

  7. evilatheistconquerer says:

    DeepDiver,
I agree that degrees don’t always mean very much, but I assure you that I am no educator, not in regards to kids anyways. You can only be an educator if those that you work with learn something from you. The kids I work with learn nothing, except how to get away with everything and blame it on the tutor. I can work with adults, but I’m awful with kids. If I were to be considered an educator at all, it would be for animals.

    alex,
I’m sorry that you can’t have dogs right now. I love my dogs and my cats and I really have a tough time being away from animals. Everytime I’m staying somewhere for a while without animals I always start missing mine. A house just feels empty without a couple of smelly dogs playing in it.

    HeatheNZ,
I found a website that should answer the problem for you. Apparently you should italicize A and put an apostrophe and s. The website says that not all authorities agree on it though, but whichever way you decide to write it you should be consistent.

That problem has always bothered me.

How’s it feel to have the love and adoration thrown in your direction…haha

Actually, the opening thread was rather dull…I’ve force myself to watch Ellen on CNN twice now, and I don’t find her 20 second comments filled with much to talk about…I’m only hoping they’re paying her alot to make the trip from NJ into the city…

Nonsensical bullshit that clutters up the thread, making this blog harder to read than any bible.

    Harder then reading the bible…?

    Try James 1:5-8

    phreedm,
First off, where the hell did you find an Iranian news network that broadcasts in English?

Hahah…I had fun finding this one…Good of you to pick-up on that…had I used many of the american news sources I would of gotten slammed for their biased views…

One will never learn the Truth if they limit their sources of knowledge…

  11. billh says:

    Evil:
Sorry to hear that. I think I know what you mean. Sometimes kids really are hardheaded and have an attitude. Think they know everything and refuse to use their heads and think. Somewhat like phreedm here. Can’t teach ‘em anything.

  12. evilatheistconquerer says:

    DeepDiver,
Something like that. These kids have a lot of problems at home too. The main problem is that they just don’t want to do the work. All they want to do is play. Mind you, it’s not all of the kids, just the ones that I end up with. I think the coordinator just likes to torture me a bit. Today we had an open house so the parents could come and meet the tutors. Not surprisingly, none of the parents showed up and only 5 out of 12 or so kids showed up. It really shows you their level of commitment to an education. I hate giving up on people, but I’m too worn out to care anymore. Next year I’ll just teach adults in the ESL program. At least they want to learn.

    phreedm,
“had I used many of the american news sources I would of gotten slammed for their biased views…”

That really depends. If it was Fox news, yes, definitely. Oh, and the “About Us” feature on websites really is useful in determining what kind of website it is, and what kind of bias it might have. Really great to use when doing research.

    EAC,
I’m in Arlington, VA right now at my brother’s pet free house and am missing my two cats so much that I might cut my trip short. My brother and his husband don’t have any “furry kids” and they don’t understand how I can miss my two moggies so much. Either you get it or you don’t. :-)
    Alex

  15. evilatheistconquerer says:

    alex,
Too true. But hey, it could be worse. You could be married to someone that’s allergic to dogs and cats like my sister’s husband. She hates not having pets. She found a cat breed that he might not be allergic to though and she’s getting it later in the year. Hopefully that will work out.
Have you tried going to a pet store to be around cats? Just to hold you over until you get home of course. I went today to get catfood and of course had to spend 10 minutes petting the ones in the adoption center. One of the cats literally screamed for attention. It was heartbreaking.

  16. wisconsinatheist says:

The thread should have been about what our impressions of Ellen were on the show. Not about cats.

Don’t get me wrong, I like to talk about pvssy just as much as any other man…

I’m as guilty as anybody of off-topicity and your suggestion to stay on-topic a bit more is a good one.

    Banning Phreedy-Le-Phreak would help.

If you got through to one, you passed.

Or you could just ignore him/her. If he/she didn’t get the attention that most of you give him/her, he/she might just go away.

“Don’t get me wrong, I like to talk about pvssy just as much as any other man…”

Gee, that’s not incredibly sexist and offensive.

  21. alexatheist says:

Sexist, offensive, and HETEROSEXIST!!! Not all men like “pvssy” but prefer a bit of todger.

  22. reason says:

has AA done some kind of review to see if going on these tv shows is effective.a newspaper interview or press release where full answers/statements can be given would seem to be better suited for giving the public a better understanding of atheists and atheism.tv seems more geared to entertain than educate.

Evil, get the sand out of your vagina. It was a play on another word for a cat.

Take a previous poster’s advice and chill.

  25. evilatheistconquerer says:

    wisconsin,
“Evil, get the sand out of your vagina.”

You know what? I’m going to go and enjoy a nice night with my boyfriend, watch a movie and eat dinner with him, and go to bed with him, knowing that he loves me. You can enjoy your frozen dinner in front of the t.v. alone and then go lie in bed wondering why it is that you are so alone. It couldn’t possibly be because of your great personality and charm.

  26. wisconsinatheist says:

How religious of you. Thinking that you know all about me without actually knowing me. Are you sure you’re an Atheist?
