Hmmmm…since when do we have a religious test for candidates? Regardless of what that religion teaches…

I guess this means if an atheist ever runs for president, we can use his/her non-religious status as a litmus test…

Phreedm,

All of the candidates are religious. All of them. That will not stop me from voting for them. But religious is different from bat-sh*t-crazy. Romney is bat-sh*t-crazy.
That and when he was heckled for being Mormon he took the opportunity to say that it did not matter what faith a candidate had .All that mattered was that a candidate was religious in some way. What an ass hole.

Call it a litmus test if you wish -- but it's not religion we're testing, it's whether the world will respect a magic-underwear President.

phreedum as you are aware there is no religious test for presidential candidates but that doesn’t mean that we can’t laugh at a candidate’s idiotic beliefs or that we can’t choose to not vote for him based on his religion.
Mitt Romney not only wears magic underpants but he also has flip flopped on many important issues including gay rights and abortion and I just don’t trust him.

Here is an article I found that shows Romney’s strong support of gay rights in the past and then his change of heart which happened to coincide with his decision to run for president. He just isn’t trustworthy.

This is a pretty bigoted post. Mormons don’t wear garments because they believe they are “magic underwear” that protects them from evil. Once in a long while they believe that a miracle occurs regarding the garments, but its not that they have any special powers.

Its tough to stand up to people that are intolerance or ignorant of atheists when so many atheists are just as intolerant and ignorant of others.
