I will definitely be looking for them tomorrow at this time….

It will be interesting to see if Bush’s 2 recent appointments have changed the ideology of the court and have them leaning in a righteous disgusting way….

This case is not about Sep of Church and State…merely whether one can challange the White House on their Faith Based Office…tough to rally around that cause…

Hopefully they’ll have more members show up then they did at their last “Happy Hour” party…

“We believe that the Court of Appeals was correct in its decision,” said Dan Barker, Foundation co-president. “We welcome the Supreme Court’s review to eliminate any doubt.

I’ll bet you Five that he won’t “welcome” the decision if they loose…

I’m have no problem with our government supporting Faith Based Initiatives (FBIs). After all the Bible says the just shall live by faith, so I’d love to see congress send truckloads of faith to Faith Base Initiatives to be passed out to people in need of faith. I might even send a box of my own faith, although it would be a pretty small box, me being an atheist.

Only ignorant people don’t know it’s wrong for our government to give money to FBIs. It’s just a waste of money; all they need is faith, right? Also, giving money to religions is an obvious church/state violation and nobody wants to violate our constitution, now do they?

Support Faith Based Initiatives with fatih, that’s the spirit!

It’s also too short a notice for me — maybe if I’d read my FFRF paper I would have known about it in advance.Anyhow, I wish them well.

    So how did it go??

From the newspaper articles on this subject, it would appear that the court is leaning towards saying that individuals lack the necessary “standing” to be able to take their grievance on such government spending to the courts, but that some denominations could sue if they could show that they had been discriminated against.

It seems to me that atheists would not likely be able to sue even if the government decided to build its own churches all over the country.

What a sad commentary on how ignorance has triumphed over rational thought in this country.
