		<description>In case you&#039;re planning a solstice party it may be nice to know when the actual solstice is.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
According to the US Navy&#039;s website, this year it&#039;s on Dec 22 at 0022 Universal Time.  Since the USA is 5-8 hrs (depending on time zone) behind UT, that means that no matter where in the USA you are the solstice will happen on Thursday night, Dec 21st.  &lt;br /&gt;

Presenter: Author, RICHARD CARRIER, Keynote Speaker&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Join us for this annual event which promises to be bigger and better this year than ever before!  Our guest speaker, Richard Carrier (Blog,more) is the author of Sense and Goodness without God: A Defense of Metaphysical Naturalism. That old God of the Gaps is back. They are posturing on the frontiers of science and claiming naturalism can never explain what remains. They are even claiming it has not adequately explained what in fact it actually has: the evolution of complex life. There are new and dazzling arguments out there, against even the possibility of a naturalist worldview, and Richard Carrier will tell you what they are and how to dispatch them.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
4 pm - Appetizers and Social Hour&lt;br /&gt;
5:30 - Buffet dinner by Holiday Inn On the Lane, including beverages, salad, a variety of entrees, and desserts. (Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase at the hotel lounge.)&lt;br /&gt;
7:00 - Program - HCCO Awards and recognition&lt;br /&gt;
7:30 - Keynote Speaker - followed by Q&amp;A and book signing&lt;br /&gt;
