Really, there is no comment, I just read that and got a good laugh at the new ways people are coming up with to brainwash kids with religious ideas.

When will the Christians figure out that not everyone believes exactly the same things they do, and that not even everyone who believes in a god believes in the same one? So they really expected the Jesus dolls to just be accepted by everyone, as if everyone who celebrates a gift-giving holiday in December is Christian? They really need to get a clue.

Eww a jesus doll. It would be more fun if you could at least dress him up or style his hair.

What an ass bite it would be to get a crappy Jesus doll for xmas!
Dagny3

It isn't about that. Christians KNOW that not everyone believes what they believe. They make this doll because they want familys who aren't Christian to get it to spread their views and try to convert people.

What a remarkably lucid decision from Toys for Tots - good on them.
Unfortunately, I was flipping through channels and got stuck on the O'Reilly Factor (which ironically doesn't seem to be based on many facts) and caught a report about this very thing. Good for the Marines to do what they did.

However, I also got caught up in hearing Mr. O'Reilly read some of his emails, since the subject matter was Atheism. During one, this pompous ass stated that "the world's worst atrocities were done in the name of Atheism (the exact phrasing may be off, I didn't have a lot of time to write it down)." Now, I can think of many MANY examples of when people were killed in the name of a god, but I can't seem to recall any times where people were killed in the name of no gods. When was any harm done specifically in the name of Atheism?

Correct me if I'm way out of line on this.

Wow. There is actually hope left in the world. Maybe I'm paranoid, but something like that could actually happen. Thats Jesus camp material right there. Attempting to brainwash kids.
But seriously, people benefit from hearing that crap? The kids who get toys from Toys for Tots generally would not get them otherwise. The families dont need to be hearing all that biblical crap. If there was an invisible man in the sky watching over them and looking out for them....why are they getting stuff for their kids from the marines. Real logical.
But thats sorta cool about the Jesus dolls. They would make an awsome gag gift for some of my atheist friends.

I know this is way out, but I wonder if the Marine's TOTs would've accepted these dolls a few weeks ago? With shrub's theoracy at the helm, perhaps the odds of fallout would've been less than today?

Well, I was a godless heathen, and I pretty much worshipped the devil. But then I got my Jesus doll, and heard all the wonderful things he'd say when you pulled the little string in the back of his neck! And now I'm happy to say I am SAVED! [/sarcasm]
