My favorites Jesus freak candidates would be:

The [I]Reverend Al Sharpton
The [I]Reverend Jessie Jackson
The [I]Reverend Pat Robertson
Jimmie Baker (yeah, bring him back and Tammie Fae's eyelashes too!)

Could any of these guys be any worse than what we have as the absolute ruler and wacko-in-chief right now?

Simon says...

Wow

I just went to Family.org.....Dobson is all over this site....Here's a testimonial.....The context is very similar to the young crusaders being nurtured at Jesus Camp.

Helping Children Know Jesus

"I've been using the Heritage Builders Bedtime Bible with my son, who is four-and-a-half. One evening, after reading the story of Jesus on the cross and talking about it, my little boy decided that he wanted to invite Christ into his heart! I am so thankful for this resource ? it really helped me explain the plan of salvation. The questions that are included at the end of each chapter really make my son think. Thanks for helping so many families ? especially mine! You're doing a great job."

? Angie, Marietta, Georgia

Holy Bullcrapanolie....The kid is only 4 and a half.....

Obviously these cookoos are all over government.....I am still waiting to see what the new supreme court will do....I suspect piss a bunch of people off at the least...we will see

The worst part that nobody has picked up on yet, is that this is just another form of corporate welfare.

The clergy can't live on tithing, so it's our responsiblity to pay them for their piss poor choice of a profession.

Only a dumbass picks a career that doesn't pay them enough money to live.

The Denver Post had a VERY interesting article this week about Bishop Dennis Leonard of the Heritage Christian (mega-)Center. Seems Mr. Leonard has a liking for Caddy-Lacks and Rolex's. Surprisingly, family members have also taken a liking to the finer things in life. Even more surprising - all those family members "work" with or for the "church".

Whodathunkit?

A couple of blips:
"his third wife"
"real-estate schemes"
"faith-based initiatives"
"gospel of prosperity"

ahhh, but it's gawd's will.

Steal from the poor
Enrich the Rich and Pious

I read the articles; mxracer652 hit the nail, "this is just another form of corporate welfare."

The more I know, the more it scares me and makes me want to return to my little corner of ignorance, except that the price I'd pay for blissfully knowing nothing would be too high (how much does a lobotomy cost?). I sincerely think it's going to get worse before it gets better. I apologize for the pessimism, but I just can't get these heebie-jeebies off of my skin.

And about the employees of religious institutions, I found myself having NO pity (is my heart turning to stone or what?). After the second or third discrimination story, I could only think one thing, "If these assholes are stupid enough to work for religious thugs, then they "reap what they sow".

Some things never change--the church doesn't hesitate to shit on its own people.

*** VOTE THIS NOVEMBER IF YOU WANT TO AVOID THE THEOCRATS GETTING EVEN WORSE! ***

The Dems have an almost certain shot at taking back control with Bush's ratings at an all time low of 33% approval and Foleygate in full swing but don't take it for granted that this is a sure thing. VOTE! Encourage all your family and friends to vote too and volunteer to drive people to the polling place. VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! while we still have the semblance of a democracy.
