So lets see Dave...you complimented someone on displaying a decal that's only purpose is to poke fun of someone else's beliefs? Oh wait, it was a babe...

Hmmm...doesn't say much for the general atheistic view of tolerance.

However, your timing is perfect.
interesting article phreedm. I think he should make a distinction between having a difference of opinion about a sports team you like and a difference of opinion about a fundamental life view. If the Yankees reinforced an idea that condomns were evil and spreading that idea in sub sahara africa where millions have AIDS, then people might a bit angry with the Yankees (well, more angry than usual ;-)

I'm not so sure a Darwin fish is poking fun at religion. As a graphic designer, I use symbols all the time, the more hackneyed, the better. The more ubiquitous, the more easily recognizable it is. In some ways, the darwin fish is a compliment to how popular the jesus fish is. The worst insult is to be ignored.

I don't have any bumper stickers. However, I drive my brothers vehicle sometimes when he borrows my pickup. He's got a ton of them. The "Asses of Evil" (with pictures of Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld) or his Einstein quote "You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war" usually gets some sort of reaction here in NC.

I have considered getting a Darwin fish for my car, but honestly it would clash with the alien that I have on it now. I'm a sci fi geek, alien stays.

But as soon as I find a patch of the Darwin fish, I plan on buying it and putting it on my jean jacket.

As far as outing myself, my family, friends, co-workers have all known for eons that I'm an atheist. Does not matter to me if strangers know if I am or not. I would say they have no influence on my life, but I guess they do huh?
