Perhaps the lack of intelligence lies in the one believing that a system that works beautifully, and clearly as designed, is somehow flawed by simply doing what was best for itself.
If god was omnipotent, benevolent, and omniscient at the same time, there would be no need for food poisoning. So, you see, there is a lie somewhere in your beliefs.

David, quick question:
Was it kosher? ;)
See, now there is a valid social device in the Talmud/OT.
Of course, it doesn't take a divine revelation to figure out: certain foods CAN kill you.

More proof that evolution did indeed form our lives.

Did you dine at a restaurant? Nothing is more aggravating than spending $100 or more at what is considered a fine dining establishment and then spending the night on your knees in front of the porcelain god (or whatever else is necessary). You want to demand your money back and ample compensation for your misery, but in the end you just vow never to patronize them again.

Whatever the cause of your misfortune, I hope you're feeling much better.

The fundamentalist view is that, before the fall of Adam, God created everything perfect and flawless. Then Adam sinned. God punished Adam (and the rest of us) by placing a curse on nature. And so, Dave's indigestion is a direct link to Adam eating the forbidden fruit.
Now, THAT is hysterical!
Because it sounds so, well, ludicrous.

David:
Oh yeah, pardon me: you are feeling better, I hope?
I'm assuming it was a mild case, no stomach pumping (or whatever it is they do these days, to treat it)?
