The media absolutely deminishes certain things and this is just another one of those things. Reminds me of how they portrayed black folks as looting and white folks as finding food. The media plays a HUGE part in how we view things. Look at how in the 50′s tv shows and movies it was OK to slap women around. The honeymooners, the husband was always threatening to “one of these days Alice right in the kisser and lets not forget when Lucy hide from Ricky so he wouldnt beat her up. Many women lived in abusive homes in the 1950′s and there was nothing they could do about it.

1st, contingent on the gauge used.
2nd, contingent on whether the barrel is ‘choked’, thereby minimizing (or maximizing) the spread of the shot.
3rd, the shotgun is a powerful weapon at close range: 30 yards is ample spread for it to dissipate.
4th, birdshot is significantly smaller.
It’s been a while, so I could be off on any of this.
Blinding is possible, but if it’s a 410 gauge, lethal is unlikely.

What this shows is that Cheney focuses on what his own goals are and doesn’t see the effects of anything around it.
I was a long time hunter until I realized killing animals is pretty stupid along with many other enlightenments.
Carelessness causes people to get shot in the hunting field. Not knowing your surroundings etc.
Quail ARE one of the most dangerous animals to hunt because they fly at head level. Therefore if you are hunting with multiple people, you should only shoot in front of you. This was not the case here. This is the same carelessness he exhibits every day on the job when his only concerns are those of his own.

That’s substantial power and the type of choke means very little given the outcome: we now have a 78 yr old man with a hemothorax and a cardiac infarct because the VP SHOT HIM.
