I say that, for other people, fine, but not for me. I don't oppose it and people who do are probably just among those who are trying to limit civil rights. And on another note, I'm the first poster again.
I find it interesting that the RR is trying to stop people from actually getting to the sic. afterlife. That is very cruel indeed.

I'm all for pro choice, it's your life if you need help ending it in a humane way go right ahead. My wife and I on the other hand are going to have signed legal documents saying that if either of us end up in a vegetative state, the other has the right to pull the plug. That should keep those RR dogs at bay.

The government is for executing people who don't want to die and then oppose people who willingly want to go, I can't work it out, my head hurts.

Dave, whoops tripped over the cord and the plug came out, is that bad? or as Steve Urkel would say "Did I do that"
I didn't expect this ruling. I was truly surprised this morning. I voted for this law twice (or was it three times?) It's a great win for both human rights and states rights. Of course, now it is very clear which side of the fence Roberts is on. If the Dems were counting on him to be a moderate vote (and all indications, based on their rolling over for Alito, is that they indeed expected that) well then this should definitely wake them up. Goddamned, spineless liberals ;)

And Dave, I'm with you. I thoroughly support an individual's right to end their own life when faced with the prospect of a slow and painful demise. I can't really know how I would feel about it if faced with such a prospect, but my feeling now is that I would want to fight and thrash and struggle until the lights finally go out.
Death ain't so bad. Once you've reached the state of nonexistence... you don't care anymore because you're back to where you were before you were born (nowhere). It's the dying part I'm afraid of and the regret that life is so short.
