When the dust settles DeLay and a bunch of others will get their just deserts. They can bring their bibles to jail.

You know, I just love reading a lot of the drivel that passes for commentary here.

People like Mr. F above ought to at least TRY to get their facts straight before mouthing off.

Mr. F, you don't know squat about Mr. Tom DeLay.

Mr. DumbF#*%$

So please explain what crime Mr. DeLay has committed for us, huh?

Perhaps you just don't like the fact that he's a Christian who has been involved in many charitable causes.

So which is it, Moron.

Wow, three of the first four posts on an atheist blog by an angry theist. Tim, I have no animosity, but please check yourself.

If you are a christian, then stay true to your faith and forgive us! Don't badger us.

Zac,

Well, I'm not angry - just a little irritated.

This can be a pattern with me. I do react strongly at times, but I don't engage in attacks on people's character.

I usually settle down after a little while...

Aren't there ANY xtian web-sites for you to visit, Tim? Surely if you look hard enough you may just find one or two (million) to busy yourself with then you can leave this one (forever).
I think this scandal will reach clear into the White House and maybe even ol' W himself will have some explaining to do (and maybe some refunds to make). Oh, how I do look forward to hearing Abramoff sing like a canary!

Tim,
fthechurch is right about Delay possibly being involved...of course it's still early so they might have it wrong (as they've been known to do on occasion), but mainstream media...at least what I watched this morning before going to work, did mention Tom Delay as one of the people who could possibly be implicated in this. There are some Democrats as well, so apparently neither party will come out of this unscathed.

island57,

I'm here precisely because it is an Atheist community.

Apparently, Peach63, fthechurch as well as yourself don't have a basic understanding of the facts involved with Mr. DeLay's case.

Tim, you asked
So please explain what crime Mr. DeLay has committed for us, huh?

Perhaps you just don't like the fact that he's a Christian who has been involved in many charitable causes.
He's been indicted on charges of conspiracy to violate election laws in 2002. It's a pretty complicated affair it seems, but it looks like the Hammer has taken money from corporations he shouldn't. I'm not assuming his guilt, but it looks like you're assuming his innocence? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok, to look a bit more at DeLay, you will see he has been admonished by the ethics committee, so one could argue that even if he has not done anything illegal, his history tells us that he's not afraid of using unethical methods. This is not the Christianity I like to participate in... the unethical version. Now, if you like we can discuss, at length the pros and cons of Mr. DeLay. To run around calling people morons is poor rhetoric. You suggest that we don't know enough about Mr. DeLay. What would you like us to know? Do you assume his innocence? If so, why?
