karen/sntc,
I grew up in a really small agricultural township, and every dog we've had (and neighbors' dogs) were outdoor only dogs. Labradors, Setters, Spaniels, Shepherds, Mutts, etc. and they were all quite weather strong (I'm in PA). Similar to you gals, my mother would feel bad & let them inside on extremely cold nights (10 degrees and below), and they would want back outside within the hour. My experience is dogs (& cats) adapt quite well, as long as they are properly fed. My .02 of course.

I really dont care if people want to believe in Jesus, what I do care about is how every where you look Jesus is presented as a real historical figure. That is misleading! Even on some of the educational channels they claim that most scholars agree that jesus actually existed! That is NOT true! Most scholars and even theologains agree that Jesus did not exist. Elain Pagel a christian historian scholar has even stated that Jesus was not a real person, but the spiritual self. So why does the media still insist on Jesus being an actual historical figure??

SNTC

So why does the media still insist on Jesus being an actual historical figure??

Think about who has the most influence on the media. If the truth got out, as a reliable, factual story, supported by a multitude of Christian scholars, it would cause too many xian heads to implode. Not that that would be a bad thing...necessarily. Plus the big TV tent show profiteers would lose their funding when people stopped sending money. People will send their money for JEEE---ee---EE---zuz, because he's seen as such a nice dude. They're not going to fork over their cash as readily for the crankster poppa goddo.

SNTC:

Elain Pagel a christian historian scholar has even stated that Jesus was not a real person

??? I don't recall that statement, but her only book that I've read is the Gnostic Gospels.
Where is she quoted as saying that? Just asking.

Here's my secret Santa wish:
An AMERICAN news outlet allowing any and all researchers as much free time as needed to go over any and all evidence, or lack of same, of the (in)errancy of the Bible.
The archeological findings, the various scriptures (the bible was edited/abridged/changed long before us), the history of Christiany and so forth.

But I have a pretty clear picture of -when- my wish will come true:
When heaven boils over.

Remember when Peter Jennings came up empty in his search for the historical Jesus? Well, not to be outdone, Barbara Walters is going to find Heaven tonight!

Hairless
Why does it have to be an American news outlet? If any national news outlet could produce such a thing and it was legit, the others would be lining up to sell the story too, wouldn't they?
Sorry, my regretably growing anti-americanism makes me say this:
I don't think many american viewers would believe the outcome of such a momentous report if it came from outside the U.S.
