We are loosing these fine folks at an alarming rate and it won't be too many more years before they are all gone. I don't know if they were our finest generation or not but between the depression and the war they had more negative things to put up with and deal with than any other generation and they seemed to have pulled it off pretty well. Unfortunately attempting to win the peace in Iraq has thus far proven to be far more difficult than winning the war. I for one have very little confidence that any meaningful long term democratic stability will exist in Iraq in the forseeable future.

As a fellow vet I am grateful to the ones that gave their lives in defense of our country. Also I salute the survivors of all past wars as well as the ones on the front lines today.
