The war taught me that government can NEVER be trusted and I feel no diffeent about that today then I did in 1971. Different war, same government. This is not a note about war or politics though, it is about religion and the media.

Someone asked about what athiests liked to see on TV. I was always a junkie for Discover Channel and the History Channel. Same company with many minions around the world. However I seldom watch anymore. History Channel has many shows on about the bible and if it’s history or not. I watched wating to see if ALL sides story would be told and was terribly dissapointed when such was not the case, and has never been the case with any of these shows. I have no idea if Athiests were ever asked to participate and they turned them down or if they were enver asked.

I read the “American Athiest” site quite a bit and am really dissapointed that many of the artivles are 20+ years old with the newest airticle being about Islam. Have we lost interest? The man who wanted to get “…under God…” taken out of the pledge was ridiculed by the news media, his personal life brought into the open to make him look like a crack pot and nowhere did I see anyone defending him and his stance. Has this movement become a “toothless tiger?”

There are millions of us in this great country. The minority to be sure, but we are more and more “invisible.” I think the Bush’s and Robertson’s of this country are eventually going to get the Iranian Theocracy” that they want. If and when that happens I dread the conswquences!

If I remember they also did a segment on the Today Show when what looked like Mary’s shadow? I think? I’m remembering very vaguely….appeared in a Chicago (?) tunnel or something either earlier this year or last year. Sorry, memory is fuzzy on it.

Considering the possibility that we could make a difference in the lives of others, I sent the application by mail. As I dropped the envelope into the mailbox, I audibly prayed with my children, “May the favor of God be upon this application and may we be selected for your glory.”

One night, after reading a book about evangelism by Ray Comfort, I awoke every other hour in a sweat. I awoke to unaudible, but the clearly commanding words, “Go! Go! Go! into the world and preach the gospel.” That morning I went for a walk to talk with God. I returned from my walk and declared to Jeff, “I am done wavering. I believe we are to “Go into the the world and preach the gospel.”

Comedy gold. I think I will probably watch tonight just for the laughs.
