Frontline, Nova, American Experience, and SNL are really the only shows I watch religiously. My wife keeps forcing me to watch these wife swap things, oh and Supernanny.

Everything else I have to get online or on DVD since we don't subscribe to cable. I like scifi too, but gave up the trekky religion years ago. My favorite modern scifi is Battlestar Galactica and Firefly.

Oh, and there's also The L Word of course - probably our most very favorite show ever (wink wink.)

I admit to being a news junkie, but do watch Law and Order, also SVU. Also, a long time Star Trek fan. I was a devoted X-phile and still watch re-runs if I'm up late.

I intensely dislike programming suposedly designed for women (by men who think they know what women are supposed to like).

As for movies, I prefer those with a lot of violence and bad language. (ex. Con Air.) What does that do to the steriotypical image of what old ladies are like?

My favorite TV show? “The Wire” on HBO — those who haven’t seen it might dismiss it as “just another cop show,” but it spends equal time looking at the police and the targets of their investigations (one case per season).

It’s more sociological argument than cop show: Season one was about the loss of the drug war and the institutional corruption that led to Enron, season two about the death of the American dream, season three about how politicians often are the problem rather than the solution, and season four will look at how children get “schooled” — either in a classroom or on the street.

Brilliantly written, brilliantly acted, magnificently cast with a wide assortment of character actors (no superstars here to distract from the storyline) — there’s nothing else like it on television.

Call me an old prude, but I don’t like semi-explicit sex on TV. I prefer the three CSI programs and NCIS. Pretty graphic stuff! I also occasionally watch Law and Order and some old reruns,

The Daily Show with John Stewart is always a good way to end the day, though I prefer most of the programs on the History Channel.

Lessee, Daily Show, Law & order (SVU, don’t watch the main 1 anymore, slipped over onto the right wing pulpit w/Fred Thompson), Discovery, History, HBO, Medium (I like it, so sue me), Dateline (occasionally), Seinfeld, Threshhold, big fan of Star Trek (the Enterprise seasons became progressively better, after the 1st season, MO), a few sitcoms here & there, absolutely NO Reality TV (GAG!), occasionally Family Guy, Simpsons, etc.
Yeah, I watch Fox occasionally. Just Sunday nites, is all. If I get the chance.
Hmmmm. Have to think about that last 1.

CSI is the favorite show in my household. There are two different channels that run old episodes, so you can watch a lot of it.

We also try to catch Frontline, the only show I can think of that is actually worth watching.
