I am sorry to hear about your girfriend's niece. That seems to be the typical coservative way of doing things; if it doesn't go your way try to change the subject and make someone else look bad. It seems like Jeb Bush is doing this with the Terri Schiavo case now. He and the other christian conservatives were proven wrong by the medical examiners. Terri was in a persistent vegetative state. Now he wants to make the husband look bad by insinuating that the husband took too long to call 911. This guy (Jeb B.) is unbelievable, he is going to do whatever it takes to appease the religious right. Why nobody in Florida does anything about this is beyond me. The news medias mention this in small segments but none of these bubble heads wants to say anything against it.Are they afraid of offending the religious right? I just got finished watching the news and it seems like the ultra conservatives are getting away with more garbage every day. The whole "God" topic seems to be an everyday issue anymore. They are so willing to jump all over a country like Iran for having the conservative religious leaders run the country but they are no better. They want the 10 commandments in front of every courthouse and prayer in all of our public schools. If you don't follow their christian beliefs then your are a second class citizen. Sorry for the long-winded comment, I guess I just needed to get some things off my chest.

This just goes to show that Christianity is a backwords death cult. The history books are full of christians deciding that god is telling them to kill. The crusades, the spanish inquisition. Yep, god told them to do it. At least athiests have personal responsibility for their own actions. We never hear god, flying monkeys or anything else telling us to kill.
The lunatic in question was probably related to another one I saw on TV.

I was watching jackass the other day (I know I know...) and one of the guys was dressed as a cartoon devil with a plastic fork and was running around in California saying he invented circumsision and god stole his idead after spying on him in the bathroom.
All onlookers were laghing at this silly guy but then a man comes along and tries to push the jackass guy in front of a speeding car but when the "devil" hit the side of the car instead of the hood, the good crhistian then started pounding on the guy that was laying on the pavement.

Attempted murder and beating for wearing a haloween devil costume???

I knew the situation was getting out of hand but I would never haved guessed how bad it had gotten.
Congrats to you guys in the US, it's far easier being an atheist in Qu?bec! No one uses violence in the name of religion up here...
Just insults!

The Religious "Right" is an orginization completely dominated by hypocrites. They go on and on criticising countries (as someone above mentioned) like Iran, Saudi Arabia, or any other country that is ruled by a religious leader, and yet they want the Bible to be read in public schools? What's wrong with THAT picture? And the Schiavo case, don't even get me started on that. I'd like to point out that "right-to-lifer" Congressman Tom Delay, while he pleaded with all his might to keep Terri Schiavo from having her plug pulled, took his own father off of life support many years back. Then the Jesus freaks want abortion and birth control to be outlawed, but at the same time they (most of them, anyway) want to cut funding to Welfare. And, hmmmmmmm, what pays for all those babies up for adoption? Could it be WELFARE????? Same sort of thing with Veggie Schiavo. Medicare payed for her to be kept alive, and yet Conservative Republicans want to cut medicare as well. I just don't get it. Religious extremist groups like Focus on the Family, the Christian Coalition, and Priests for Life, to name a few, really are scary and very inconsistant with their beliefs. Frank Pavone, the leader of Priests for life, for example, wants parents to involve their children (yes, elementry school children) in the anti-abortion movement. So, apparently, Fr. Pavone thinks it's a good idea to breed little Paul Hills, Shelly Shannons, and Eric Rudolphs. Let me say, if Fr. Pavone thinks it's a good idea to indoctrine children with political beliefs, maybe he should move to Kosovo or Northern Ireland and see the results of it. What I'm saying is that the evangelicals are wacked and scary and should be avoided at all costs.

By the way, I saw that episode of "Jackass" with Chris Pontius in the devil costume. That was funny as Hell. ;)
